The Care Path Mediation Kit
The Care Path Mediation Kit (CPMK) aims to improve medical care for allophone patients (whose native language is différent to that of the community in which they live). Faced with the language barrier of the French medical environment, these patients often feel helpless and lost.
The crux of the CPMK project? The idea that caregivers and patients can optimize their communication with each other. With the help of different modes of communication (drawings, symbols, picture books, cartography, etc.) in the care record, allophone patients are provided with simple, explicit information to help them better understand their current treatment. Their interactions with the various networks of caregivers are facilitated.
At the same time, caregivers benefit from help with the “delicate” task of dealing with allophone patients. A kit to make everything easier!
This project has been selected as part of Design L'Expo 2025 and will be exhibited at La Cale 2 Créateurs from January 22 to March 9, 2025.

« Care Design offers a unique approach, focusing on new ways of designing responses centered on vulnerable, isolated or marginalized users.
In this context, Julie studied the medical, relational and subjective care of allophone chronic patients. Working in close collaboration with caregivers and patients, she designed a Care Path Mediation Kit (CPMK). As a result, allophone patients take ownership of their healthcare pathway, and caregivers feel valued for the quality of their work. » Clémence Montagne, Director of cycle master Care Design
