NACAA Exposition des travaux des étudiants de NACAA en 2ème année de DN MADE

First NACAATHON in China

An intensive design workshop to explore innovation and entrepreneurship

NACAA, the first sino-french design institute, hosted the inaugural edition of NACAATHON, a four-day intensive workshop that brought together more than 70 students to explore design as a driver of innovation and entrepreneurship. The event focused on agency creation, strategic problem-solving, and design thinking. The students worked within one of 5 thematic tracks directly inspired by the school's Design Labs, which are structuring teaching, research and partnerships.

Over the course of four days, more than 70 second-year DN MADE students at NACAA, the first sino-french design institute launched by L'École de design Nantes Atlantique and China Academy of Art, took on an unprecedented challenge: to build a design agency from the ground up that could address real-world challenges and win over an international jury of professionals.

Inspired by hackathons, the NACAATHON brings the intensity, creativity, and collaborative spirit of these events to the worlds of design and entrepreneurship. Participants work in interdisciplinary teams to devise innovative solutions, build a business model, develop a brand identity, and present their project in a professional context.

NACAA hosted the inaugural edition of NACAATHON

This inaugural edition brought together a team of teachers and experts from nine different countries with the students, all united by a common goal: to explore how design can become a driver of innovation, collaboration, and entrepreneurship.

Supervised by Anna Lukina, Falk Fuhrmann, educational leaders, Markéta Fingerová, Ph.D, Vincent Baillet, Olivier Pigasse, lorenzo acciai, Tim Binnion, Theophile Signard, Erik Yáñez, Montague Caudwell Todd, Clémentine Bory and Tian-You ZHENG, the students presented their projects in English to more than 30 Chinese and international executives, designers, architects, and entrepreneurs.

At the same time, NACAA organized an exhibition of work by students heading to Nantes to continue their studies, as well as a “talent fair” where students at all levels could meet professionals as part of their search for internships or jobs. This unique, international, and decidedly interdisciplinary format brings together education, innovation, and industry.
