Máni
Noise pollution is the second biggest public health issue in France. More and more young people are affected by hearing problems. The WHO recommends an average of 30 decibels in a baby’s environment. Protecting your infant’s hearing is therefore essential. What anti-noise solution can we use to protect babies in any situation?
During her studies in Product Design, Mathilde Bonacorsi addressed the issue with a piece of furniture designed around the baby’s 2 main activities: nap time and waking time. The modular design features a carry-cot which unfolds to convert it into an activity mat. A large acoustic cushion serves as a mattress to which are attached 6 acoustic cushions. Máni can be used to transport the baby and isolate it from noise, while at the same time stimulating its senses.
This project is part of Design portfolio 2020, a selection of 36 projects from this year which bear witness to the talent, creativity and know-how developed by the students during their undergraduate studies.
