Our Facilities

 

L’École de design Nantes Atlantique is established on the high-tech cluster of La Chantrerie in Nantes (France), alongside companies and engineering schools: École des Mines, École polytechnique de l’Université de Nantes, École Supérieure du Bois, École Nationale Vétérinaire and ICAM (Institut Catholique des Arts et Métiers)

This business cluster dedicated to research and industry is a hotbed for prospective research where education instutions work hand in hand with a number of industrial partners while striving to offer career-oriented quality curriculums.

L’École de design Nantes Atlantique is also established abroad. In 2008,we opened a subsidiary institution in Qingdao, China: see the section "China Campus". A similar program is about to start in India, in September 2010, jointly run with Srishti School of Art, Design and Technology (Bangalore).

Classrooms and workshops

L’École de design is open to students from Monday to Friday, from 7am till 11pm.

Design workshops for individual or collective work sessions.

Two model-making workshops equipped with machine tools to make foam, wood, metal and plastic volumes

A rapid prototyping machine consisting in a 4-axis digital milling machine with high capacity.

A studio equipped with photographic and video cameras (Digital Single-Lens Reflex and 3-CCD camera)

A studio with sound recording equipment

A video-editing studio.

Video projection equipment is at the disposal of students and faculty in every classroom.

Students can access the technological section of the university library located on the same site (more than 5 000 books, abstracts of symposiums, theses; 200 specialized magazines; databases, CD-ROMs, Internet access... ; numerous design-related books and magazines)
