Mobility in the sustainable cities
Cities are rapidly changing: new means of travel, new products and new forms of energy are emerging; the automobile is being called into question; multimodal transport is developing; and we are now starting to imagine cities without cars. Urban mobility will never be the same again. New services emerge, new needs arise, the city is redesigned, living spaces are transformed, and habits change.
The MDes New Mobilities promotes in-depth thinking on the subject of future mobility, chiefly in the urban environment, by conceptualizing new means of travel and their impact on the architecture of the city. Teamwork in a multicultural context, and often with external partners, allows young designers to develop the necessary skills to meet the challenges of future mobility.
Design applications include:
- Equipment and vehicles for the transportation of people and goods
- Services facilitating mobility an alternative means of travel
- Mobile information systems Infrastructure and circulation area development
