A focus on Tangible Interfaces
As information technologies are becoming increasingly more popular and keep spreading all over our material environment, the ways human beings interact with information systems now reach way beyond the commonly held oppositions between real and virtual, hardware and software.
In a world where connected devices are omnipresent, the wide range of available uses requires designers to invent new interface scenarios to make sure “ambient computing” produces user-centered technologies. No doubt this new technological deal is about to shake up our work, leisure, cultural and social habits.
The Master’s program Tangible Interfaces trains designers to find their voice in this context of ever-changing uses.
Design applications:
• gaming applications, toys, games
• work equipment
• mobile services
• pervasive computing
• research on multisensorial interfaces...
• collaborative/interactive work...
Design training
Students are required to conduct several projects conducted via an industrial partnership revolving around this theme and a final degree project addressing an issue related to Tangible Interfaces.
All throughout this long-term process they are guided and advised by experts such as designers, industrial partners, researchers and professionals...
Head of program: Thierry Lehmann, Industrial Designer
We have already worked with: ORANGE, MAGELLAN, CONTINENTAL, THOMSON
Language: The classes are conducted in French. Intensive French lessons are available during the first semester.
Applications for Tangible Interfaces the upcoming academic year (2012-2013) are no longer possible, as the course is now full.
