For the second year in a row, L’École de design joined forces with Dyson during Designer’s Days 2012 in an exhibit entitled Identité(s): je suis l’air [Identity(ies): I’m air], created by Julien Bergignat, 2010 graduate and 2011 winner of the James Dyson Award France.

Designer’s Days

What does it take to see the immaterial, feel the impalpable, and reach the unattainable? Julien Bergignat’s inspiring scenography at Dyson touches down as he examines more closely a key element in our IDENTITIES: Air. Riddled with introspection and whim, the designer embarks on a voyage plunging him into this vital element proving to be just as captivating as cryptic. He offers visitors a look into a journey that retraces the various facets of the intangible.

A handful of air-infused projects

With air as the focus, a handful of projects developed between 2010 and 2012 has been unveiled to the public. New Mobilities Master’s student, Fan Fan, developed R-Lamp, a light source that indicates the level of indoor air quality. Paul Vaugoyeau, 2010 graduate, devised Kerio, an innovative laundry care appliance featuring vacuum-packed technology. Lastly, as his end-of year project, 2011 graduate Marc-Antoine Russo proposed Biolifik, which is an information management tracking system for the care and maintenance of air-purifying indoor plants.
