However, it is recommended for all applicants from outside the European Union to register as early as possible in order to obtain the required student visa.

Application process
1 - Apply online
Applications can only be done online.
Once you have filled out your personal data, you will be required to pay a non-refundable inscription fee of 50€ to cover the administrative costs of your admission process. This payment is only possible by credit card and is fully secured. Please have your credit card ready.
You will be asked to indicate your choice (1st and second for the master’s, 1 for International Class) for which program you would like to take. If accepted, the program into which you will be placed will depend not only on your choice, but also on your profile, design background and the number of places available.
After registering online you will receive an e-mail stating your file number and providing a link to the mandatory online questionnaire.

2 - Fill out the online form
The link provided in the email received after payment will take you to a questionnaire, in which you will be asked to provide information concerning your studies, professional experience, extra-curricular activities, skills in foreign languages, data processing, and applied arts... You will also have a few questions about the reasons leading to your choice of L’Ecole de design.
Your application will not be valid until this online questionnaire is completed.
3 - Send the full application file
Make sure your file contains the following documents:
- a cover letter written in English or French (exposing your motivations to follow the course),
- a resumé (CV) in English or French,
- a portfolio in English or French
- an official document stating your English proficiency if you are not a native English-speaker*
- any document providing proof of your level in spoken and written French*, if you are not a native French speaker and wish to enroll in one of the master’s programs taught in this language (New Eating Habits )* ; no French is required for the International Class or the master’s programs taught in English
- copy of your degrees and/or certificates with a certified translation in English or French if necessary;
- copy of your school records from your last studies in design, translated in English or French if necessary;
- one or two letters of recommendation from professors or professionals (optional)
Please indicate your file number on each document.
Send us all these documents by email - masters@lecolededesign.com (maximum 5Mb per email). All documents except the portfolio must then be sent via postal mail to:

* In the absence of such a document, an oral assessment via skype will be organized.

4 - if you are accpeted, validate your registration in the school
The applicants will be selected by a jury of professors based on the documents provided (online registration form, portfolio, CV, cover letter, copies of degrees and certificates, school records…) and an interview in person or by skype if applicable (International Class, and in case of lack of English certificate)
After the selection process, accepted students will receive a student contract to be dated, signed and sent back to our administrative staff in order for their admission to take effect. A copy of the study regulations must also be returned with your initials on each page. An initial payment towards the tuition fees for 2012/2013 (1725 €) must also be acquited at this time, by check or bank transfer. The deadline to return the documents and send the payment will be communicated to you by email.
Due to the limited number of students taken in, failure to hand in the student contract, study regulations and payment by the given deadline could result in the cancellation of your admission.
Final admission will only take effect when the necessary visa is obtained. We provide all the necessary documents for the visa, but it is the student’s responsibility to apply for the visa. No visa is required for European students signing up for the programs taught in France. For more information on visas, see the page Practical Information.
Once accepted, students only remain eligible for registration for a year.
